Bugy Craxone was formed in May of 1997 in the Hokkaido Prefecture of Sapporo. With vocalist/guitarist Suzuki Yukiko, guitarist Oikawa Tsukasa, former drummer Hiroshi Miki and former bassist Kudo Shinya, the band entered a music competition six months later in which they won first prize. The money was used to build up a steady fan base. A year later they packed up and headed for Tokyo where they signed on with major label Victor Entertainment. Their debut and release of their first album titled blanket came in 1999.
Through the years various member changes have occurred with the departing of Kudo Shinya replaced by Asahi Tsukasa and Hiroshi Miki replaced by Monchi. They also dropped Victor Entertainment and created their own label ZubRockA records.
Eight albums and 12 years later, Bugy Craxone is still going strong as one of Japan’s most prolific bands of the underground music scene. |
